FUMC Cedar Hill Youth

Youth Group

Each Wednesday our youth gather from 5PM to 7:30PM in the Family Life Center. During open gym they play basketball, throw footballs, and kick soccer balls around. You can also catch them up in the game room playing air hockey, foosball, ping pong, pool, and gaming. At 6PM we serve dinner, and our Group Chat LIVE begins at 6:30PM.

We seek to develop SERVANT LEADERS as we deepen our FAITH and strive to WALK WITH GOD.

What’s Happening This Spring?

This spring, Student Ministries will begin a new series, Confirm, a creative and discussion-based study that invites students to explore what it means to be a Christian and live out their faith.

Confirm offers a flexible confirmation pathway for students who feel ready to pursue confirmation, while also welcoming youth who are still discerning their faith or who attend other congregations. Through engaging activities and meaningful conversation, students will explore belief, commitment, and God’s call in their lives—all within a supportive community that includes parents and mentors.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child have to be confirmed to participate?
No. Youth group participation is open to all students. Confirmation is an optional pathway within the larger youth group experience.

What if my child attends another church?
Students who are members of other congregations are welcome to participate fully. The curriculum focuses on foundational Christian faith and meaningful conversation that benefits all youth, regardless of church membership.

What if my child isn’t ready for confirmation yet?
That is completely okay. This curriculum is designed to support exploration and discernment. Students may participate without making any immediate commitment to confirmation.

How will we know if our child is ready for confirmation?
Readiness is discerned over time through conversation among the student, parents, mentors, and youth leadership. Confirmation is approached as a thoughtful and prayerful decision, not a requirement or timeline.

What is the time commitment?
Youth will participate during regular youth group meetings. Additional mentor or family conversations will be intentionally limited and designed to fit naturally into family schedules.

What happens after confirmation?
Confirmation is viewed as a beginning, not an ending. Youth will continue to be encouraged toward active participation in the life of the church and ongoing faith formation.
